History of the Book Tower

Four books, each made from a single piece of paper, form this artistic book tower. Each piece has window cut outs with text in various sizes cut from discarded books pasted on the bottom of each “floor.” Painted with acrylics, they can be opened just enough to produce the effect of looking through a large building.

Artist Elena Mary Siff said: “In my studio, I interpret the mystery, the humor and the threat of my dreams. Like a beachcomber or a scavenger wandering among the ruins, I collect and juxtapose bits of disparate material, creating my own order. The souvenirs of my travels have been a constant source of inspiration.”
